Your privacy, plainly explained

01Who we are

4D Lifestyle Development Consultancy (“4D Lifestyle”, “we”, “us”) provides the website and the app. For anything in this policy, write to contact@4dlifestyle.com.

02The short version

• The app is for adults: you must confirm you are 18 or older to create an account.
• No ads, no analytics or crash-reporting SDKs, and no tracking. We do not sell your data or share it for advertising.
• The AI companion is off until you turn it on, you choose what it may use, and your private journal is never sent to it.
• Your journal is encrypted on our servers, and you can export or delete it at any time.
• You can delete your account and all its data yourself, inside the app.

03The website

4dlifestyle.com has no accounts, no advertising and no analytics. Pages are served through Cloudflare, which processes the technical details of each request (such as the network address) to deliver the page and keep it secure.

The contact form opens your own email app, so we receive only what you choose to send us by email. The “Book a consultation” links and the booking calendar on the Contact page are provided by Calendly; if you use them, the details you enter are handled by Calendly under its own privacy policy.

The site keeps one small flag in your browser’s session storage so the opening animation plays only once per visit. It stays in your browser and is not sent to us.

04What the app collects, and why

Everything below is used only to provide the app’s features. None of it is used for advertising or tracking.

• Email address (required) — to create your account, sign you in, and send account emails such as verification and password reset.
• Password — stored only as a salted, one-way hash, never in readable form.
• Display name (optional) — to personalise the app.
• Profile and preferences — language, time zone, communication style, time available and what you say needs attention, so Today and Discover can suggest relevant practices.
• Check-ins, assessment answers and progress — your daily check-ins and the answers you give, used to show your rhythm, streaks and achievements. These are built only from what you actually do.
• Daily practice completions and goals — to power Today, Progress and your goals.
• Journal entries (optional) — your private reflections, stored encrypted (see “Your journal”).
• AI companion messages and memories (optional, only if you turn the companion on) — see “The AI companion”.
• Device and session information — a random per-install ID and device name, used to keep you signed in and to let you sign a device out. This is not an advertising identifier.
• Push notification token (optional) — only if you turn on reminders, so reminders can be delivered to your device. Notifications never contain personal content.
• Security records — short-lived counters that limit repeated sign-in attempts, and a log of account actions (for example, that an account was created or deleted) that records a hashed network address and never your content.

05What the app does not collect

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos, videos, audio, files, calendar, financial information or web-browsing activity, and the app contains no analytics or crash-reporting service.

06Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers (processors) who handle data only to run the service for us. We do not share your data with anyone else.

• Cloudflare — hosts the website and the app’s servers and database, and runs the AI companion (Cloudflare Workers AI).
• Expo Push Notification Service — delivers reminders, if you enable them, using your push token. Delivery to your phone also passes through Apple’s or Google’s own push service.

07Your journal

Journal entries are encrypted with AES-256-GCM on our servers, using a key specific to your account, before they are stored. The journal is never sent to the AI companion. It is encrypted on our servers rather than end-to-end, so it is protected in storage but is not hidden from the service itself. In the app you can set automatic deletion of old entries (for example after 90 or 365 days, or keep them), delete single entries, delete the whole journal, and export your entries.

08The AI companion

The companion is optional and off by default. When you turn it on you choose, category by category, what it may use: your profile, your check-ins, your recent activity, your goals, earlier conversations, and a memory of things you explicitly ask it to remember. You can change these choices at any time.

Your messages and the information you allow are processed by Cloudflare Workers AI to produce a reply. Your private journal is never shared with it. You can see and delete what it remembers, and delete all conversations, from the app.

The companion is not a doctor or therapist and cannot diagnose anything. 4D Lifestyle is a wellbeing and reflection tool, not a medical device, and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment. In an emergency, contact your local emergency services.

09Age

The app is for people aged 18 and over, and you confirm this when you sign up. It is not directed at children. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us at contact@4dlifestyle.com.

10Security

Data is encrypted in transit using HTTPS. Passwords are stored as salted hashes. Each device has its own session, sessions can be ended individually from your profile, and repeated sign-in attempts are rate-limited. No system is perfectly secure, and we have not had an independent security review.

11How long we keep data

• Account data is kept until you delete your account.
• Journal entries are kept until you delete them or until your own automatic-deletion setting removes them.
• You can delete AI conversations and memories at any time.
• Sign-in attempt counters are short-lived, and security log entries contain no personal content.

12Your choices and rights

You can view and edit your profile in the app, export your journal, delete individual items, and delete your whole account. To ask for a copy of your data, to correct something, or for any other request about your information, email contact@4dlifestyle.com from the address on your account.

13Deleting your account

You can delete your account inside the app under Profile, or by emailing us. Full instructions, and what is deleted and what is kept, are on the account deletion page.

14Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date at the top. If the changes are significant we will tell app users in the app.
